Use this article to assign courses to your student. You can assign courses at any time.

Note
Monarch is a web application that can be used on a browser on any device. To account for the smaller screen real estate on mobile devices, Monarch's menus are tucked away so that you can more easily view what's currently on your screen. Assigning courses
Tip
If you are using a mobile device, the menus are tucked away to give you more room to work. Throughout this procedure, you can use the following at the top of the screen:
- Back arrow lets you return to the previous page.
- Drop-down menus allow you to toggle among students and courses.
- Actions button gives you access to the Course Options menu.

To assign courses, you must first add a school year:

Access the Setup school year page by clicking Assign courses:
- On the Dashboard, on a student card.
- At the top-right of the Courses page.
Success
The Setup school year page displays.
- Select the school year. If the current school year does not display as a choice, add a new school year.
- In the lower-right corner, click Next.

The Setup courses page displays.
Feature Description Subject Filter to view available courses by subject. Grade level Filter to view available courses by grade level. Selected courses Once you have selected courses, they display in this section. Available courses All available courses display on the right side. Scroll to review the courses. Click the plus sign (+) to add the course to your student. - Once you have selected all desired courses, at the bottom right, click Assign Courses.
Success
The courses now display on the Courses page and the Dashboard.
