Grading an assignment

You can access assignments that need grading from the Dashboard, Calendar, Courses page, or My Tasks page.

 Mobile devices

Although you can view assignments that need grading on a mobile device, you cannot grade them on a mobile device. Please switch to a larger device, such as a laptop, to grade assignments. For more information, reference Using Monarch on a mobile device.

Grading an assignment

  1. Access the assignment from:

    The player displays.

  2. On the Assignment grade pane, review your student's work. Scroll down to view the assignment and student responses. Click Previous and Next to view additional pages of the assignment.

    On the answer key, correct student answers are highlighted in green.

    Incorrect answers are highlighted in red, with the correct answer highlighted in yellow. For unanswered questions, the correct answer is also highlighted in yellow.

  3. On the Assignment grade flyout, input the points awarded for each item.

  4. The total score displays.

    Do one of the following:

    If... Then...
    You are finished grading Click Save Changes.

    You want to close out of the assignment without saving it

    At the top of the page, click Close.

    An Unsaved Changes warning displays. Click Close Assignment.

    You want to reset the assignment

    Graded assignments and ungraded assignments can be reset to provide additional attempts. Resetting the assignment deletes any previous work and reassigns it to the student.

    At the top of the page, click Reset.

    On the window that displays, click Reset.

 Success

The page refreshes and the assignment now shows as Graded with a score in the Course Structure.
