You can unassign a unit or assignment. This action makes it unavailable to students. If you want to unassign a unit but retain one or some of the lessons from that unit, you can do that too.

Monarch is a web application that can be used on a browser on any device. To account for the smaller screen real estate on mobile devices, Monarch's menus are tucked away so that you can more easily view what's currently on your screen. Unassigning an entire unit or assignment
- Access the unit or assignment.
- On the card, click Unassign.
- On the window that displays, click Unassign.
Success
The unit or assignment is unassigned. The unassigned item is still visible, but it now as not assigned in the course structure and on the card. The option to Assign the item is now present on the card.
Retaining assignments from an unassigned unit
Now that a unit has been unassigned, you may still want to have your student complete certain assignments from it. Here's how to assign them:
- Access the unassigned unit.
- On the course structure or card, click to open the unit.
- On the item that you want to reassign, click Assign.
- On the window that displays, select the applicable option, set a new due date and click Assign.
Success
The assignment is assigned. In the course structure and on the card, the item no longer displays as unassigned. The Unassign button is now available on the card again.
